Funeral for Sgt. Michael A. Boehm


The United States Park Police is saddened to announce the on duty death of Sergeant Michael Boehm.

Sergeant Boehm was assisting EMS Units at the scene of a critically injured person in the area of 34 th St and the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal in Washington, DC on December 16, 2011. While at the scene, Sgt. Boehm collapsed and was transported to Georgetown University Hospital. sadly, he died a short time later.

Sgt. Boehm will be buried with full honors. All area law enforcement agencies are invited to participate in the viewing and funeral. The arrangements are as follows;

The viewing and Funeral Mass will be held at the
Church of the Nativity
6400 Nativity Lane
Burke, VA 22015

The public viewing will be held on Tuesday December 27, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

The funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday December 28, 2011 at 10:00 am.

Immediately following the funeral Mass a procession will be held from the church to U.S. Park Police Headquarters in Washington, DC. Sgt. Boehm will be interred after the procession (approximately 1:00pm) at the

Partnering law enforcement agencies desiring to send officers, motorcycle escorts and ceremonial units will be advised shortly of specific points of contact and staging areas.

Parking will be limited so attendees are encouraged to carpool when possible. Parking at the church will be limited to procession and ceremonial vehicles. All others will be directed to overflow sites where shuttle service will be available. Variable messaging signs and law enforcement personnel will provide directions in the area of the church.
